If you want a cozy and comforted ambience, here are some points to consider a more intimate space.
* interior design ideas Create spaces through the use of directed light. Lighting from the ceiling will seem to lower it. A reading lamp or down-shaded lamp will cast light only in its relative vicinity. Use incandescent rather than halogen or florescent lamps for a warmer glow.

* A dark floor with walls of brown or deep red, blue or green tones will help create the feeling of a smaller, cozier space.

Consider your space to furnish, and include only enough pieces to fit the function of the space. Modern decor’s appeal is the feeling of airiness, space and light.

WINDOWS: Light is key in modern décor. Window treatments should be kept light in texture, color, and weight. Heavy blinds, drapery and puffy curtains are too ornamental and ‘heavy’ looking for contemporary styling. Minimalism is achieved more easily when an abundance of light fills the room. If living in a smaller home, use less furniture and this will visually open up the room. Even though light may not be abundant, the use of lighter colors and less furnishings will instantly make windows seem brighter.

A modern interior decoration and design can be a fabulous visual treat. New York-based designer West Chin Architect designed the Fabulous Flat with a modern theme and a bold approach to decorating. This home interior design makes quite a statement. Above is the photo of the living room. Your eyes will probably be immediately drawn to the center where the light fixtures of pretty little glass balls dangle prominently from the ceiling. The eyes are also drawn to the painting, which is also, by itself, quite engaging to look at.
